GRADUATION MSC summer 2000

DEAR BOUWKUNDE, or, TO OUR BEAUTIFUL FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE.

My colleagues and I arrived incognito on September 1998 at Bouwkunde: seven foreign students for a brand new course, a truly experience for us and for the teachers as we were meant to be the first International Master of Science students ever in that School.

Unforgettable the delightedness of getting to know every corner of the building in a short period of two years. Fighting to understand the Dutch language, getting acquainted to the infrastructure available in the building… However, in the mean time we were most privileged by having exclusive lectures from all the Professors who I only knew from the books I read in Brazil, with their projects and statements, … immensely rewarding! And how luxurious it was to be introduced to The Netherlands through the lectures and presentations we attended in the BK auditoria. Finally, “inspiring” would be the best adjective to describe that period of my life: being there in that boiling environment, a real fabric of endless ideas, dreams, relations, but overall, of so much beauty that was produced in that School in many respects.

All that beauty will remain alive in the soul of each one of us, specially our hearts.
